It looks like Percy is healthy enough to practice again. After a week long battle with a sinus infection and headaches, Harvin is hitting the practice field.
The Gators missed their best play maker last Saturday against South Carolina. The other players just aren’t capable of filling into Harvin’s shoes. No one holds the ball and hits the holes faster then Percy.
I’m very excited to see him back in the lineup against Florida Atlantic on Saturday, even if his playing time is limited (assuming this game will be a blow out and the starters won’t play but 3 quarters).

Percy Harvin didn’t make the trip to Columbia for yesterday’s game against the Gamecocks. That didn’t seem to matter though as the Gators steamrolled over South Carolina 51 to 31. Tim Tebow stole the show with 7 total touchdowns.
Harvin missed the game due to a sinus infection and severe headaches. Hopefully it’s just a bad bug going around and he’ll be ready to go next week against Florida Atlantic.
The announcers mentioned several times how important Harvin is to the Gator offense. They did a great job of given him some national attention even though he was not playing.

Percy Harvin missed practice yesterday with a sinus infection. Anyone who has suffered from one of those knows they are not fun! Sinus infections build up nasty pressure in your face and you’re constantly blowing your nose. If this lingers on through Saturday, HArvin could be slowed for the South Carolina game.
“Percy’s under the weather,” Meyer said. “He’ll be fine tomorrow. (He) started getting sick as a dog yesterday.”
I’ll keep everyone posted as news develops.

How many touches per game do you think Percy Harvin needs for the Gators to be successful? In the Vandy game last week he had 20 touches… 9 catches and 11 rushes. He touched the ball more then anyone except Tebow, and with good reason. Harvin is the biggest playmaker the Gators have. If you want to win, you have to get the ball in your best playmakers hand. But how many touches is enough? 10? 15?
I think somewhere around 15-20 touches is ideal. And an average balance between rushing and receiving. Harvin is a threat to take it to the house anytime he touches the ball, so Meyer needs to find a way to get it to him. “The biggest thing I see about our offense is when Percy Harvin is in that backfield, it opens up the inside run, the outside run, the play-action game,” Meyer recently said. “Because the threat is real.”
But there’s also a concern that 15-20 touches a day is too many. He could get worn down and overworked. I’d like to know what other fans think. How many touches per game should he get?

Tim Tebow gets all the glory at UF. He gets all the media attention and he can do no wrong. Percy on the other hand, has been somewhat in the shadow of Tebow. “That’s me. I like laying low,” Harvin said. “Tim deserves all the credit — he’s the quarterback. He’s got to direct everything. He should get all the attention.”
Don’t sell yourself short Percy. After rushing for over 100 yards and receiving over 100 yards in the same game, Percy has finally come out from behind Timmy’s shadow. Percy is quickly becoming ‘the man’. He is very dominating on offense and people are finally starting to take notice.
I’ve never seen anyone hit the holes like Harvin does. And not only does he do it from the slot, but he also hits them from anywhere on the field. “He’s a nightmare,” UF cornerbacks coach Chuck Heater said. “To match any one guy with him is a problem.”

This is the number one source for everything Percy Harvin. We have pictures, videos, fun facts, a biography, game stats and more. And here on the homepage you will also find daily Percy Harvin news updates. Everything from game time performance reviews to what Harvin is up to on campus.
Many of you may have found this site via Tebow Zone, another site I run just like this one. If you’re a visitor to Tebow Zone, then you know how this site will be run. I’m going to keep things very similar, and often times refer you to my main gator site, Gator Envy.
