Percy Harvin Zone

The day when Percy Harvin takes the field again is almost here. Yesterday, Florida Gator Coach Urban Meyer said “They’ll (Harvin and Spikes) play but how much depends on how they hang in there. Percy was gimping around a little bit in practice but he went.”There’s no doubt in my mind Urban is looking to snap Miami’s 6-game win streak over Florida, and to do this he’ll need his best players on the field… even if it’s in limited action. I wouldn’t expect Percy to play a lot in this first game. He’ll probably start, in principle alone, but will most likely be used as a situational player… or as a decoy.

If Percy Harvin is on the field, the Miami defense will have to account for him with 2 players. If you single team Percy, you’re as good as dead. This works out perfectly for Urban’s spread offense.

I just posted yesterday about how we don’t know when Percy will be back, but an article on ESPN late evening is saying that the Gators expect Percy Harvin back in the lineup for Miami this coming Saturday.

Coach Urban Meyer said Sunday that the speedy junior probably will play against the Hurricanes. Meyer said the same about Spikes, the team’s defensive leader who injured his right foot last week and was wearing a walking boot Saturday.

I’m sure Urban will limit Percy throughout practice this week and during the game on Saturday, but this is still great news. don’t forget that the Gatprs have an off week after Miami, so that will give Harvin plenty of time to heal up for SEC play.
