There hasn’t been talk of Percy Harvin going in the Top 10 of the NFL Draft since last year when he was a rising junior. Percy’s injuries have bumped him down a couple slots in the minds of most NFL scouts. However,
Raiders beat reporter Jason Jones of the Sacramento Bee says he “wouldn’t be surprised” if Oakland used its first-round pick on Percy Harvin.
While 7th overall would seem high for Harvin, his speed undoubtedly will appeal to owner Al Davis. If the Raiders get their offensive tackle situation ironed out in free agency, wideout could be their top priority in the draft.
If Crabtree is off the board by the time the Raiders pick they’ll be more inclined to go WR. The only other option that high would be Jeremy Maclin, and he has injury concerns as well (he got wrecked up at the combine on a deep route).
Percy has all the tools to succeed at the NFL level. A lot of people are comparing him to Steve Smith and Wes Welker. Every team in the league would be happy grabbing a player like that with their first pick.
