The University of Florida Pro Day is next Wednesday. Percy Harvin will participate and there will be dozens of NFL Scouts on hand to watch him. Whether Percy Harvin is drafted in the Top 10 or closer to the 25-30 range may depend on his performance.
The USA Today had a good write up on Percy. Check it out:
Florida wide receiver Percy Harvin hopes to hear his name called in the first round of the April 25-26 NFL draft. If it is, he owes thanks.
New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick is close with Florida coach Urban Meyer and has studied Meyer’s spread-option offense firsthand.
Belichick gave some coaching pointers to Harvin, who scored 17 touchdowns on 110 touches last season.
“He’s been an inspiration to me,” Harvin says of Belichick. “I’ve talked to him several times. … He’s talked to me and told me what I need to work on. I think the world of him.”
NFL evaluators are impressed with Harvin, who ran a 4.39-second 40-yard dash at the scouting combine.
“He makes defensive coordinators anxious,” Buffalo Bills vice president of college scouting Tom Modrak says. “He’s a big-play possibility every time he touches the ball.”
Whom does Harvin compare his skill set with? “Reggie Bush has popped up, but a lot of people compare me to Steve Smith,” Harvin says of the Carolina Panthers wideout.
