I feel kind of stupid now after defending Percy in my previous post. But as the only Percy Harvin fan site out there, I feel it’s necessary to tell the fans all the stories and news that comes out about Percy. ProFootballTalk.com is now confirming the report. They are too big of a website to risk publishing false info, especially after NFL Draft Bible took so much criticism last week.
Though NFLDraftBible.com took a lot of criticism a couple of weeks ago, and perhaps rightfully so, for naming six players as having tested positive for marijuana or banned substances at the Scouting Combine, we’ve confirmed that one of the players outed by the web site — Florida receiver Percy Harvin — indeed tested positive for marijuana at the Combine.
The news isn’t a surprise, given that neither Harvin nor his agent, Joel Segal, have disputed the original report.
The impact of the result on Harvin’s draft standing remains to be seen. Smoking marijuana is a fairly common phenomenon; the issue is whether a guy can stop doing it in order to avoid getting suspended.
The fact that Harvin wasn’t able to produce clean urine for a test that he knew he was going to be taking isn’t an encouraging sign.

what a shame….he just lost out on a lot of money.
this is sad, how can you take a chance like that. i am still a harvin fan
Dude keep supporting him.
The weed laws in this country go beyond stupid, and the societal hypocrisy on this issue is embarrassing.
He is a better player then either Crabtree or Maclin and will be the best WR from this draft in two years.
I hope the Raiders take him.
By the way he could have stopped burning weeks before the test, we all metabolize THC differently.
Shame he had to learn it the hard way.
How many times has Randy Moss been given second chances. He was popped in St. Paul with a bag and pipe and popped. That doesn’t include him being tossed from ND and FSU before he played a down of college football for burning.
This doesn’t change what I think of Harvin.
A mistake by Percy could have been made way back during that celebratory time right after the BCS championship…MJ can be traced back as far as 6 weeks or so. The bigger mistakes also are the security system of NFL in letting the results get sloppily handled, mock drafts eating it up for attention, the media tap-dancing on a good kid’s head. A kid (20 y.o.), up from a rough series of things in life but had a stable mother and other relathionships that helped, along with UF leadership; no babies nor baby’s mommas…if he did light up is he now worth less? No, not if God gets this right…Percy is a prayerful Christian who may have made a mistake, and even if it was a bad result on the test, that will only motivate him to not try to use again. No bad tests at UF and he suddenly goes crazy?? NOT. Terrible stakes and only he will suffer, even if he is drafted in first round. He is the kind of guy that suffers when he makes a misstep, on or off the field, and never looks at anything with a casual, so-what attitude. He is quiet, respectful, smart, curious, and all a coach abd tean could dream for. He has matured but boy, will he do so even moreso now. I feel fortunate to have been at fairly close range to see his positive growth and prospects and hope others DON’T GIVE UP ON HIM!! You’ll be glad you kept him as a favorite. And by the way, he is no Randy Moss, no how, no way. I am glad to know him. And even prouder that he will make a success no matter what the draft says…either way he will work and work and work.
WHAT ARE U STUPID 6 WEEKS!!!!!!!!!!!! PERCEY AND THE WHOLE FLORIDA FOOTBALL TEAM NEED TO BE DRUG TESTED U JUST DONT SMOKE POT ONE TIME AT THAT AGE. URBAN MYER AND THE ALL MIGHTY GATORS NEEDS TO BE WATCHED MORE CLOSELY!!!!!!!!!!!!1
